Lock, stock, and barrel

Okay kiddo, imagine you have some toys. You have a toy car, a toy train, and a toy plane. These toys are like the different parts of a gun.

So when people say "lock, stock, and barrel", they mean everything that comes with a gun, including the smaller parts like the lock (which is like the part that keeps the gun from going off accidentally), the stock (which is like the handle where you hold the gun), and the barrel (which is like the long, skinny part that the bullet comes out of).
