Okay kiddo, so imagine you're playing in a sandbox and you grab a handful of sand and throw it up in the air. The sand falls down all around you and makes a little hole where it landed.
Now, imagine that on a much bigger scale. A long time ago, something big and powerful happened on Earth that caused a giant explosion. This explosion created a big hole in the ground, like a giant sandbox, called a crater. And one of these craters is called the Logancha Crater.
The Logancha Crater is a very big hole in the ground in Russia. It's about 8.5 miles wide, which is really HUGE! Scientists believe that this crater was formed by a meteorite, which is like a big rock from space, crashing into the Earth's surface.
When that meteorite hit, it caused a huge explosion and sent shockwaves through the ground. Those shockwaves moved the earth and created the big hole that we now call the Logancha Crater.
Even though it's been a long time since the Logancha Crater was formed, scientists study it to learn more about how our planet was formed and how these big craters are made. So, the Logancha Crater is like a big mystery that scientists are trying to solve!
