ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Long mode

Long mode is a way for a computer processor to handle large amounts of memory and data. It allows for more complicated processes to be done and for faster computing. When the computer is running in long mode, it can look at more data at once and make more complex calculations. It also allows for more memory to be used. To give you an analogy, imagine you had a lot of puzzles, and you could only look at one puzzle at a time. In long mode, it would be like having a special magnifying glass that allowed you to look at several puzzles at once. It would take less time to complete your puzzles and you could do more complicated ones too.
