Long weekend

A long weekend is when you get an extra day off from school or work to take a break and rest. Normally, we have two days off on weekends, which are Saturday and Sunday. But sometimes, we get one more day off, and that makes it a long weekend.

Now, the reason we get a long weekend is that there are certain special days like holidays, festivals, or events, when we don't have to go to school or work. For instance, some of the holidays that give us long weekends are Christmas, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, and Memorial Day.
