ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Low Cost Miniature Cruise Missile

Okay kiddo, so you know what a missile is, right? It's like a super-fast plane that carries a bomb and can hit targets from far away.

Well, a miniature cruise missile is just like a regular missile, but it's much smaller and cheaper to make.

Imagine a toy airplane that you can buy at a store. Now imagine that airplane being really fast and able to fly long distances. That's what a miniature cruise missile is like.

But why do we need them? Well, sometimes the military needs to hit a target that is too far away for a regular missile or too small for a big one. So they use these tiny missiles to get the job done. They are also helpful for quick, precise strikes when time is of the essence.

And because they are smaller and cheaper, it means the military can use more of them without spending as much money.

But don't worry, kiddo. These missiles are only used for very important things and by highly trained professionals. We should always hope for peace and not need to use them at all.
