Low-dose naltrexone

Low-dose naltrexone is a special kind of medicine that helps our body fight off sickness and pain.

To understand how it works, we need to know a little bit about how our body works. Our body has special cells called immune cells that help us fight off sickness. Sometimes these immune cells get lazy and don't work as well as they should. When this happens, we can get sick more easily or we can feel more pain.

Low-dose naltrexone helps wake up these sleepy immune cells so that they can work better. It does this by sending signals to our brain that tell our body to make more of these immune cells.

One important thing to know is that low-dose naltrexone is different from regular naltrexone. Regular naltrexone is used to treat addiction to drugs and alcohol. But low-dose naltrexone is a much smaller amount of the medicine, and it is used for different reasons.

Finally, if you ever need to take low-dose naltrexone, be sure to follow your doctor's instructions carefully. They will tell you exactly how much to take and when, so that you can get the most benefit out of the medicine and avoid any side effects.
