Lumen method

Okay, so have you ever sat in a room and noticed that sometimes it's really bright and sometimes it's kind of dim? The lumen method is a way that grown-ups use to figure out how much light is needed in a room so that it's always the right amount of bright.

They start by measuring something called the "room cavity ratio," which is just a fancy way of saying how big the room is and what kind of shape it is. Then they figure out how much light they need for each square foot of the room based on what the room will be used for, like reading or playing or sleeping.

After that, they use some math to figure out how many light bulbs they need and how bright they should be to make sure the whole room is lit up just right. It's kind of like cooking a big meal - you have to measure everything out and use the right amount of ingredients to make the perfect dish!

So that's what the lumen method is all about - making sure that every room has just the right amount of light so that you can see everything clearly and do whatever you need to do without squinting or straining your eyes.
