ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lutheran

Okay kiddo, so there are lots of different types of churches and one of them is called Lutheran. Some people go to Lutheran churches to worship God and learn about Jesus.

A long time ago, a man named Martin Luther didn't like some things that the church was doing, so he started a new type of church called Lutheran. This happened a really long time ago, like over 500 years ago!

Lutherans believe in God, just like other Christians, and they also believe that the Bible is the most important book for them to read and follow. Lutherans also believe in something called "grace," which means that God loves us no matter what we do, and forgives us when we make mistakes.

Lutherans sometimes have different ways of doing things in church too, like instead of calling their leader a priest, they call them a pastor. They also have something called "communion" which is when they eat a piece of bread and drink a sip of wine to remember Jesus.

Overall, being Lutheran is just one way that people choose to worship and connect with God.
