M.C. Escher was an artist who lived in the Netherlands during the 1900s. He was best known for his artwork which featured unusual patterns and images that seemed to move and twist around. He also used special techniques to make things look like they were going upside down, inside out, and back around again. Many of his pieces, such as Sky and Water or Relativity all make the viewers' eyes twist and turn around to see all the things in his artwork. Every image was designed to show the impossible and impossible to understand.
