On the 4th of February 1974, a really bad thing happened on a big road called the m62 in England. Some mean people put a bomb on a coach – a big bus – that was carrying lots of innocent people. The mean people set off the bomb, which made a really big explosion that hurt a lot of people.
The police found out that the mean people who did this bad thing were part of a group called the IRA, which was a group of people who wanted to make Ireland its own country and not part of the UK. The police talked to lots of people to find out who did this bad thing and after some time, they found out that the people who did it were very sorry and didn't mean to hurt anyone.
Everyone was very sad that people got hurt, and it was a bad time for everyone because people were scared that it could happen again. But the police worked really hard to make sure it wouldn't and they caught the people who did it.
