ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

MCLOS

MCLOS stands for "Manual Control Line of Sight". It is a way of operating a weapon system without using any technology that helps you aim.

Imagine you are playing with a toy gun that shoots darts. Normally, you would look down the barrel and aim the dart at a target. But with MCLOS, you would have to use your hand to move the barrel and point it at the target without looking down the barrel.

It's like trying to throw a ball into a basket without looking at your hands. You have to use your intuition and understanding of physics to aim and throw the ball just right.

MCLOS is used by military forces in certain situations when technology is not reliable or available, such as when flying helicopters in bad weather or if the weapon system is damaged. It requires a lot of training and practice to become skilled at using MCLOS effectively.
