Maccabiah bridge collapse

Okay kiddo, do you know what a bridge is? It's a structure that helps us cross over things like rivers, valleys or even roads. But sometimes, bridges can break or fall apart, and that's what happened at the Maccabiah Bridge.

The Maccabiah Games is a sports competition held in Israel, and it's a big event where lots of athletes from different countries come to compete. The opening ceremony for the games was taking place in a stadium, and the athletes usually walk into the stadium through a special bridge.

But when the athletes were walking over the Maccabiah Bridge, something terrible happened – the bridge collapsed! This means that the metal structure that held the bridge together suddenly broke, and all the people on the bridge fell into the water below.

It was a very scary moment for everyone there, and some people were hurt or even killed because of the collapse. The athletes and spectators who were there worked together to help the people who fell into the water and get them to safety.

After the collapse, people investigated what happened and found out that there were some problems with how the bridge was built. It wasn't strong enough to hold all the people who were walking on it, and that's why it fell apart. Now, people make sure that bridges are built correctly so that they can be safe for everyone to use.
