ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Machine perception

Machine perception is the ability of a computer or machine to "look" at something and understand it. For example, a machine can look at an image of a cat and understand that it is a cat, or it can listen to a sentence in a different language and understand what it means. It's like a computer has its own eyes and ears that allow it to "see" and "hear" things in the same way that people do.
