Magnetic pulse welding

Magnetic pulse welding is like playing with magnets! You know how magnets have a positive and negative side that stick together? Well, in magnetic pulse welding, we use two pieces of metal that have both a positive and negative side. We hold the two pieces of metal together really tight and then shoot an electric pulse through them. This causes a big magnetic field that pushes the two sides of the metal apart really quickly.

Then, just like when you let go of a stretched rubber band, the two sides of the metal quickly snap back together. When they do, they create a very strong bond between the two pieces of metal. This is how magnetic pulse welding works! It’s really cool because it can join two pieces of metal together without using any heat or any other materials, which is really useful when you don’t want to damage the metal or need to keep the temperature low.

So, imagine you have a toy car made out of metal and you want to add wheels to it, but you don't want to use glue or screws because it might ruin the car. That’s where magnetic pulse welding comes in - with this method, you can join the wheels to the car body by just shooting a quick electric pulse through them, and they will be stuck together tightly!
