Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is a law in the United States that protects people who buy products like cars, appliances, and other things. It makes it illegal for sellers of these products to say that they won't give customers a warranty - that is, a promise that the product will work as expected. It also says that if a company does give a warranty, it has to be clear about what it covers and how it works. So if you buy a car, for example, you'll know exactly what repairs and parts the company will cover if something goes wrong.
