Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate

The Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate is a group of really important countries that come together to talk about two things - energy and climate change. You know how mommy and daddy tell you it's important to turn off the lights when you leave a room to save energy? Well, these countries have to do something kind of similar, but on a much bigger scale.

They're trying to figure out how to make sure they have enough energy for all of their people, but also make sure they're not hurting the planet. That's where climate change comes in. Just like when you have a fever, the Earth is getting hotter because people are using too much energy from things like cars and factories. When the Earth gets too hot, it can cause a lot of problems like bigger storms, droughts, and even people getting sick more often.

So, the countries in this group try to come up with ways to use energy in a way that doesn't hurt the planet. They talk about things like using more wind and solar power instead of coal and oil, which can be really dirty and make the Earth hotter. They also talk about things like planting trees to help take carbon dioxide out of the air, which is a gas that makes the Earth hotter.

It's kind of like a big group project where all of these really important countries come together to figure out how they can help make the Earth a better place for everyone.
