Malthouse

Hey there champ! Do you know what a malthouse is? Well, a malthouse is a place where people make something called malt. Malt is something made from grains like barley, and it is often used to make beer and things like that.

So, in a malthouse, the grains are first soaked in water and then allowed to germinate, which means they start growing. This is because when the grains start growing, they produce enzymes that turn the carbohydrates in the grain into sugars which are needed to make beer.

After the grains have started growing, they are dried in something called a kiln, which is like a special oven. The dried grains are then crushed to make a powder called malt. This malt can then be used to make different kinds of beer or other things like whiskey.

So, that's what a malthouse is and what they do there. It's a place where they make malt from grains, and this is an important ingredient in making beer and other alcoholic beverages.
