Mapuche

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of a group of people called Mapuche? They live in a country called Chile, which is very far away from where we live. The Mapuche people have a really interesting culture and way of life.

They believe in living in harmony with the land and all the creatures that live there. They used to be very skilled hunters and gatherers, which means that they would hunt animals and gather plants to eat.

Sadly, the Mapuche people have faced many challenges over the years, especially when the Spanish came to South America. They had their land taken away from them and were often forced to work for very little money. Even today, some Mapuche people are still fighting for their rights and the right to keep their land and traditions.
