Marinade

A marinade is like a special sauce that you put on meat or vegetables before you cook them. It makes the food taste really yummy and helps to make it tender too.

To make a marinade, you usually mix things together like oil, vinegar or lemon juice, spices, and herbs. These ingredients together make the marinade flavorful and delicious. Some common spices and herbs that people use in marinades are garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and thyme.

After you mix all the ingredients, you pour the marinade sauce over the meat or vegetables. You can think of the marinade as a cozy blanket that covers the food and gives it a lot of flavor. It's like giving the food a nice, long bath in yummy sauce.

Once the food is covered with the marinade, you leave it alone for a while so that it can soak up all the tasty flavors. This is called marinating. Sometimes, you only need to marinate the food for 30 minutes, and other times you may need to marinate it overnight, which means leaving it in the sauce for a whole night.

While the food is marinating, it's like it's having a big soak in the sauce. The sauce seeps into the meat or vegetables and makes them taste super delicious when you cook them later.

When you're ready to cook, you take the food out of the marinade and you can cook it on the grill, in the oven, or on the stove. The marinade helps to keep the food moist and adds extra flavor while it cooks.

So, to sum it up, a marinade is a special sauce that you put on your meat or vegetables before you cook them. It makes your food taste really yummy and helps to make it tender too.
