Mark 12

Okay kiddo, so Mark 12 is a part of a book called the Gospel of Mark. This book is like a story about a really important person named Jesus. And in this part, Jesus is talking to some important people called Pharisees and some of his followers.

Jesus tells a story about a man who owned a vineyard and he rented it out to some farmers. But when it was time for the man to collect the grapes, the farmers didn't want to give them back. So the man sent his son to talk to the farmers, but they killed him instead.

Now, Jesus didn't just tell this story for fun. He was trying to teach the Pharisees a lesson. He wanted them to understand that they were like the bad farmers who didn't want to give the grapes back. The Pharisees were supposed to be leaders, but they weren't doing a good job of taking care of God's people.

Then, Jesus talks about something called the greatest commandment. He said that the most important thing is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. And the next most important thing is to love your neighbor as yourself. He was trying to teach everyone that loving and helping others is really important.

Finally, Jesus watches some people giving money to the church. But he notices that some rich people are giving a lot of money, but it doesn't really mean anything to them because they still have a lot left over. And he sees a poor widow who gives just a little bit, but it means a lot to her because it's all she has. Jesus wants people to understand that it's not just about how much you give, but it's about your heart and your willingness to help.

So Mark 12 is a part of a book that tells a story about Jesus and his teachings. He wants people to understand how important it is to love God and others and to help people, no matter how much money you have.
