ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Markov chains

Markov Chains are like machines that create stories. They are used for lots of different things, like predicting what might happen in the future! They have memory, so they remember what has happened in the past and make decisions based on that. They work by having a list of possible actions or events that can happen, then it chooses the next action or event based on what has happened in the past. So when it makes predictions, it's like the machine is creating its own story based on what has happened before.
