Marriage in Japan

Marriage in Japan is a little different from most other places. In Japan, when two people get married, their families meet and have a special ceremony. During this ceremony, the families exchange gifts and everyone eats a special meal. It's a very special time for the couple and their families. After the ceremony, the couple stands in front of a Shinto priest and makes a special promise to stay together forever. Then, they are officially married.
