Marriage squeeze

Marriage squeeze is when there are more women than men who are in a marriageable age range, and this causes difficulty in finding a suitable partner for women. It's like sharing toys with friends, but there are not enough toys to go around.

Imagine there are 10 girls and 10 boys, and they need to pair up. It's easy to find a partner for everyone because there is an equal number of boys and girls. But what if there were 15 girls and only 10 boys? This would make it harder for every girl to find a partner because there aren't enough boys to go around.

This can happen in real life because sometimes more boys leave the area for work or education, while more girls stay in the area. Or some cultures may prefer sons over daughters, so fewer girls are born, causing a marriage squeeze for girls when they reach marriageable age.

Marriage squeeze can create a lot of stress and pressure for women who want to find a partner and get married, but it's a problem that can be solved by changing cultural ideals and creating more equality between boys and girls.
