Marshall Islands

The Marshall Islands are a group of islands and atolls in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. They are made up of 29 coral atolls and 5 bigger islands. The people that live there are called Marshallese. The Marshall Islands were once occupied by the Americans and the Japanese, and they were heavily bombed during World War II. Now the Marshall Islands are an independent nation, which means they make their own laws and decide who is in charge. They are a very beautiful place with lots of plants, birds, and wildlife. The people of the Marshall Islands depend mostly on fishing and farming for their food and income.
