Martingale is a way of playing a game where the player keeps increasing their bet after every round until they eventually win. To explain it using an example, if you were playing a coin-tossing game and you bet on heads, and you lose, you then bet double of what you had bet in the first round. This way, you make sure that if you keep on betting and losing, you can eventually win back all your lost money and make a small profit. The probability theory behind this is that if you keep betting on the same thing and keep losing, then eventually you are likely to win.
