ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

May R. Berenbaum

Okay kiddo, so there is a lady named May Berenbaum who is really smart about bugs. She knows a lot about different types of bugs and how they live and grow.

See, bugs are really important because they help plants grow and they also help us learn about how different parts of nature work. But sometimes bugs can also be a problem, like when they eat all the plants we want to grow or when they make us sick.

May Berenbaum studies bugs so that we can understand them better and figure out ways to keep them from causing problems. She even wrote a big book called "The Earwig's Tail" where she talks about all sorts of bugs and their cool secret abilities.

So May Berenbaum helps us learn about bugs and how to make sure they are helpful to us and not just causing trouble.
