McKenzie River dory

Okay kiddo, have you ever been on a boat before? A McKenzie River dory is a special kind of boat that's made for going fast and having fun on rivers.

It's called a "dory" because it was first used by fishermen in the 1800s to catch fish in the rivers around Oregon. But the version that we use today is a little different.

Nowadays, the McKenzie River dory is made of wood or fiberglass, and it has round sides and a flat bottom. That helps it float safely and quickly through the water.

The boat is powered by oars, kind of like paddles for grown-ups, and it's meant to be rowed by two or three people at a time.

The really cool thing about the McKenzie River dory is that it's so versatile. You can use it to go fishing, or just to go for a fun ride down the river. Some people even use these boats to go white-water rafting, which is when you go down rapids and waves in the river.

So that's what a McKenzie River dory is all about, kiddo. It's a fun, fast boat that you can use to have adventures on the river.
