Mead-Conway VLSI chip design revolution is when two people, Carver Mead and Lynn Conway, changed the way computer chips were designed in the 1980s. Before this revolution, chips, or the tiny circuits inside computers, were made by hand, which was a very difficult and time-consuming task. With the Mead-Conway revolution, the process of designing computer chips became much easier, faster, and much less expensive. A new way of designing the chips was created, and this new way allowed many more companies to make their own computer chips. This revolution made it cheaper and easier for people to create powerful computers and other electronic devices, which changed the world!
