ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Meagre set

Imagine you have a basket of toys. Some of the toys are more special and important to you than others. A meagre set is like the basket of toys, but instead of toys, it's a set of numbers.

A meagre set is a set of numbers that is really small and not very important compared to all the other numbers out there. Just like how you might have a favorite toy that you always play with, most numbers are more popular and useful than the numbers in a meagre set.

Sometimes people study meagre sets because they're interested in all different types of sets of numbers, just like how you might like to study all different types of toys. But usually, meagre sets aren't very exciting or important when compared to other sets of numbers.
