Mean squared prediction error

Mean Squared Prediction Error (MSPE) is a way of measuring how accurate a prediction was. It is calculated by taking the difference between what you predicted and what actually happened, then squaring it, and taking the average of all of those squared differences. Basically, it is a way of seeing how far off you were, on average, from getting your prediction right.
