ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Measure (data warehouse)

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a really big chalkboard in school? It's so big that it takes up a whole wall! Now imagine that this chalkboard is filled with really important information about how well we are doing in something, like how well we are doing in school or in sports.

This big chalkboard is like a data warehouse, where important information is stored in one big place. Within this data warehouse, there are different things we can look at to see how well we are doing. These things we look at are called measures. It's like measuring how tall you are with a ruler or how heavy something is with a scale.

But instead of measuring height or weight, we are measuring how well we are doing in something like school or sports. These measures could be things like test scores, how many points we scored in a game or how much money we made in a business.

The data warehouse helps us keep all the measures organized so we can track how well we are doing over time. This way we can see if we are getting better or worse, and we can make changes if we need to. It's like a big scoreboard that helps us keep track of how well we are doing!
