ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Measurement category

When we talk about measurement, we are talking about figuring out how big or small something is. Just like we use a ruler to measure how tall we are or how long a pencil is, we also have different categories or types of things we can measure.

For example, some things we can measure using length. That means we look at how long or how far something is. We can also measure things using weight or mass. That means we figure out how heavy something is.

There are also other categories we can use to measure things, like volume, temperature, time, and more! Each category helps us figure out a different aspect of an object or situation.

So when we talk about measurement category, we're talking about which of these categories we're going to use to figure out how big or small something is. It's like choosing which tool to use to fix something. You wouldn't use a hammer to fix a leaky faucet, right? Similarly, you wouldn't use weight to measure how tall a building is! By choosing the right measurement category, we can get the most accurate and helpful information about something.
