Measurement tower

Imagine you want to measure how tall something is, like a tree or a building. But you can't just use a regular measuring tape because it might be too short. That's when you use a measurement tower, also called a height pole.

A measurement tower is like a really tall stick with measurements on it. It can be made out of different materials like metal or wood, and it can be different heights depending on how tall the thing you want to measure is.

When you want to use a measurement tower, you put it next to the thing you want to measure and stand back a little bit. Then, you look through a special thing called a rangefinder, which helps you see how high up the tower the top of the thing you're measuring is.

Once you can see how high up the tower the top of the thing you're measuring is, you just look at the tower and read the measurement. That tells you how tall the thing is!

People use measurement towers for all kinds of things, like measuring the height of trees or buildings, or even for things like measuring how deep water is or how far down a hole goes. It's a really handy tool for measuring things that are really tall or really deep!
