ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mechanized infantry

Mechanized infantry are soldiers who use vehicles like trucks or armored personnel carriers to move around during battles.

Instead of walking everywhere, like regular infantry soldiers, they get to ride in vehicles that can protect them from enemy weapons and move them quickly through rough terrain.

When they get to a battle, they can quickly exit their vehicles to fight on foot. They have special training to use the vehicles and weapons they carry with them, and they work together as a team to make the best decisions and carry out their missions.

Overall, being a mechanized infantry soldier means you get the best of both worlds: the speed and protection of a vehicle, and the agility and adaptability of a foot soldier.
