Medical applications of radio frequency

Do you know when you talk to your friend on the telephone and you don't see them, but you can still hear them through the wire? That's because the telephone uses something called radio frequency or RF to send and receive the sound signals.

Well, scientists and doctors also use RF in special medical tools and machines to help take pictures and treat different health problems in people's bodies. For example, doctors may use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines that use strong magnets and RF signals to take very detailed pictures of organs and tissues inside the body. This helps doctors to see if there are any problems or damage that they need to fix.

Another way that RF is used in medicine is in treating cancer. Doctors can use focused RF energy to heat up and destroy cancer cells without damaging healthy cells around it. This is called radiofrequency ablation, and it is a way to fight cancer without surgery.

So, all in all, RF is important in the medical field as it helps in identifying and treating health issues in our body.
