Mediterranean and Middle East theatre of World War II

World War II was a big war that happened all over the world. The Mediterranean and Middle East Theatre of World War II was a part of the war that happened in the Mediterranean Sea and in the Middle East. Countries like Italy, Greece, Egypt, Iraq, and Turkey were all part of this theatre of the war. Soldiers fought on ships in the Mediterranean Sea and on land in the Middle East. The Allies (countries fighting against the enemy) wanted to capture important cities and ports in these regions. The enemies (countries fighting against the Allies) wanted to make sure they didn’t get captured. So they had big battles in the Mediterranean Sea and on land in the Middle East. Many brave soldiers fought in this theatre of World War II to help the Allies win the war.
