Member states of the United Nations

Okay kiddo, do you know what United Nations is? It's like a big club where different countries can talk to each other and work together to make the world better. But to be part of this club, a country has to be accepted as a member.

So, just like how you have friends in your class, United Nations has member countries. Each member country has a flag, an anthem, a leader, and a particular way of doing things.

Right now, there are 193 countries in United Nations, and each of these countries has an equal voice in group discussions. Some countries are very big like Russia or China, while others are very small like Tuvalu or San Marino.

Imagine that you and your friends are trying to decide what game to play together. But each friend has a different idea, and you want to make sure that everyone's voice is heard. So, you all take turns speaking and listening to each other. That's kind of what a United Nations meeting looks like.

Being a member of United Nations means that a country agrees to work together with other countries to make the world a better place. They agree to follow certain rules and try to help each other out.

In summary, member states of the United Nations are countries that are part of a club that works together to make the world a better place. They each have a voice, they each work together, and they agree to follow certain rules.
