Memory distrust syndrome

Okay kiddo, have you ever played the game telephone with your friends? You know, where you whisper a message to one person and they whisper it to another person, and so on? Sometimes the message gets all mixed up by the time it gets to the last person, right?

Well, sometimes our memories can be kind of like that game. Our brain remembers things based on what we think and feel about the event, and sometimes that can change over time. So, Memory Distrust Syndrome is when someone starts to doubt their own memory because they can't remember something clearly or they start to wonder if what they remember is actually true.

It can be really frustrating and scary to feel like you can't trust your own memories, but it's actually a pretty common thing that happens to a lot of people. One way to help prevent Memory Distrust Syndrome is to try to pay attention and be present in the moment when things are happening, that way your brain has a better chance of remembering things accurately.
