ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Memory protection

Memory protection is like having a toy box with different compartments for your toys. Each compartment is like a different part of your computer or device's memory where different things, like programs or data, are stored. Memory protection helps keep your stored information safe by making sure that each program can only access its own compartment, and not accidentally mess with the other compartments. This prevents programs from accidentally deleting or changing important information that other programs need, which could cause the computer to crash or malfunction. It's like having a grown-up watching over you and making sure you don't break anything.
