Mennonites in Belize

Mennonites are a group of people who believe in living a simple and traditional way of life. They have their roots in Germany and are Christians who often dress in modest and plain clothing.

In Belize, there is a community of Mennonites who live in tightly knit groups on farms and in villages. They grow their own food and rely on each other for many things. They do not use many modern technologies like electricity or cars, instead they use horses and buggies to get around.

The Mennonites believe in working hard and taking care of the land, animals, and each other. They often speak a special kind of German called "Low German", but many also speak English and Spanish.

The Mennonites are respected in Belize for their strong work ethic and their contributions to the country's agriculture and economy. They have been living in Belize for over 50 years and have made it their home.
