Mental health is how we feel and think, and how we handle our emotions and the things that happen to us. For a lot of Asian Americans, good mental health is about feeling safe and respected, and having a sense of belonging. It's important to feel supported by family and community, and to have good relationships with friends and other people. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can make it hard for Asian Americans to get the support and respect they need. Bullying, language barriers, discrimination, and a lack of understanding from people who don't look like them can all make it hard to stay mentally healthy. To help stay mentally healthy, it's important to reach out and talk to other people, like family, friends, and counselors. Or, take some time to do something you find calming or relaxing. These things can make a big difference!
