Meronymy and holonymy

Meronymy and holonymy are big words that mean something very simple, like how a puzzle can have many small pieces that fit together to make a big picture.

Now, let’s say we talk about the opposite of meronymy, which is holonymy. Holonymy is like a fancy word for saying that the bigger thing is made up of smaller parts. For example, a car is a holonym of its many smaller parts like wheels, doors, and a roof.

So, meronymy and holonymy are just big words to describe how one thing can be made up of smaller parts or how many smaller parts can come together to make a bigger thing.
