Mesa Verde National Park is a place where ancient people called Ancestral Puebloans used to live a very long time ago, even before you were born! It is in Colorado in the United States.
The people who lived there a long time ago built amazing homes just like we do today, but they made their homes in cliffs and caves on top of a mesa, which is a flat-topped mountain.
Back then, they didn't have all the tools and technology we have now, so they had to be very creative and resourceful when building their homes. They made walls using stone and mud, and the roofs were made of sticks, mud, and grass.
Today, we can go visit these ancient homes and see what life was like for the Ancestral Puebloans. We can see how they learned to use the land around them to survive and thrive.
It's important to remember that these ancient homes are very delicate, and we need to be mindful and respectful when we visit. We should always follow the rules and stay on the designated paths to protect these amazing pieces of history.
