Meshimori onna

Okay kiddo, so have you ever seen an adult wearing a big beautiful kimono in Japan? Well, sometimes when a woman wears a kimono, it can be really hard to move around like she needs to. This is where the meshimori onna comes in.

A meshimori onna is a special kind of helper who helps women wearing kimonos move around easily. They basically hold onto the back of the kimono and walk alongside the woman, so she just has to focus on walking and looking pretty. It's kind of like having a human dress holder-upper!

The word meshimori onna actually means "woman who holds up the hem" in Japanese. So, they're basically just helping the woman not trip over her kimono or get it dirty as she walks around. They're really important during special events like weddings or other fancy parties, where women often wear kimonos that are heavy and hard to walk in.

So, that's pretty much it kiddo. A meshimori onna is like a fancy dress assistant who helps women wearing kimonos walk around without any problems.
