Metabolome

Metabolome is the set of all the chemicals--like proteins, sugars and fats--inside a living thing. The chemicals of the metabolome come from what the living thing eats and what happens to it when it is alive. Every living thing has its own unique metabolome, or set of chemicals. Scientists study the metabolome to learn what living things need to stay healthy.
