Metal theft

Metal theft is when someone takes metal (such as copper or aluminum) without permission. People do this to sell the metal for money. It is illegal to steal metal because it can cause problems for others. For example, if someone steals metal from an electric power line, it can cause the power to go out or be weaker than normal. That means lights and other things that need electricity won't work. People who steal metal can get hurt, too, because metal can be dangerous!
