Metalinguistics

Metalinguistics is the study of how people use language to understand and communicate about language. It looks at how we use words and grammar to figure out meanings, how we express our thoughts and ideas, and how we learn and use languages. In other words, it's the study of how people make sense of language and use it to communicate.
