Metamaterials: Physics and Engineering Explorations

Metamaterials are materials that designed and created to bend and direct light, sound, and other waves differently than normally happens in nature. Physics and engineering researchers explore how these materials work and use them to create new technologies and products. For example, certain metamaterials can be used to make better lenses for optical devices, or to make materials that reflect sound better so it doesn't echo. The possibilities are endless!
