Mezuzah

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a little box or tube hanging on the doorpost of a Jewish home or business? That's called a mezuzah!

Inside the mezuzah is a tiny scroll of parchment paper with very special words written on it. These words are from the Jewish holy book, the Torah, and they remind Jewish people of God's promises and commandments.

When a Jewish person walks through the doorway and touches the mezuzah with their hand, it's like saying hello to God and remembering to follow His rules. It's kind of like a secret code that only Jewish people know about!

So, next time you see a mezuzah, you'll know why it's there and what it means to the people who have it on their doorpost. Pretty cool, huh?
