Microbarom

Okay kiddo, have you ever been on the beach and heard a low humming noise that sounds a bit like a distant engine? That's kinda what a microbarom is!

You know how the ocean waves crash onto the shore? Well, those waves actually create little vibrations in the air around them. These vibrations travel through the atmosphere and can be heard as a low, continuous humming sound.

Scientists call this sound a "microbarom." The reason they call it that is because it's caused by changes in atmospheric pressure, and pressure is measured in units called "baroms."

So, basically, a microbarom is just a fancy way of describing the sound of ocean waves vibrating in the air around them. Cool, huh?
